Opted in? If your own list hasn't been updated in 14 days and we see newer inventory or events on your website, social posts or newsletter, we add them for you, marked "Inventory Observed [date]". Anything you post replaces ours right away. Haven't claimed your listing yet? You can text us too. It works for every farm, claimed or not.

How It Works
What is FarmScout?
FarmScout is a nationwide discovery app that helps customers find farms, farmers markets, farm-direct food, seasonal products, events, farm stays, and agricultural experiences near them or wherever they're headed. Listings include dated or timestamped updates so customers can know before they go. There is no ordering, no cart, no delivery and no pay-to-rank - customers see your listing and come to you.
Why should farmers claim their listing?
Claiming a free FarmScout listing allows farmers to manage their business information, products, events, and experiences directly. Claimed listings display the Farmer Verified label and help customers connect directly with the business without listing, management, booking, or sales fees.
Is FarmScout free for farmers?
Yes. FarmScout listings and management tools are free for farmers and eligible farm-direct sellers. There are no listing or management fees. A sponsored event section and local sponsors cover the technology and the information updates, so the tools stay free for farmers.
Is FarmScout free for customers too?
Because finding local food takes time most people do not have. The alternative is driving around to see what is open, then checking social media, the web and the local paper, and still not knowing who has what. FarmScout lets customers type in what they are looking for and see where to get it, with the date it was reported. Know before you go.
Yes - FarmScout is a free app for customers. An optional FarmScout Pro subscription adds extras like saved farm lists, and sponsored local events help keep listings and management tools free for farmers.
How do farmers update their information?
Farmers log in to the FarmScout web portal at app.farmscoutapp.com from any internet-connected phone, tablet, or computer to update their business information, products, availability, and events. Each update refreshes the listing's date or timestamp so customers can see when the information was reported.
Can FarmScout keep my listing updated for me?
Yes, if you opt in. Check "Yes, FarmScout can keep my listing updated" when you claim or add your farm (or later, on your listing's edit page). Then you can text your updates to 631-223-8885 any time, and when your own list is more than 14 days old we can add current inventory and events we see on your website, social posts or newsletter. They're marked with the date we saw them, and anything you post in the farmer panel replaces ours right away.
How do farmers markets work on FarmScout?
Farmers markets are listed alongside farms, farm stands, and other local producers. Market operators can manage the list of vendors who attend their market and toggle each vendor on or off as availability changes - so customers see who's actually there today. Markets can add events as well.
My farm is not listed, or I have no time to manage it
Text 631-223-8885 or email support@farmscout.co your farm name, town and state, then your current inventory and upcoming events. We will add the information for you, whether or not you have claimed your listing. All inventory and events are marked with an observed date and expire in 7 days.
